Hi all

Thanks all of you for spamming my tagboard yesterday! No, serious, make it look so zai. lol. Ok, i seriously feel that we should niao anymore; I don’t know who started this trend of being so sarcastic, adding a REALLY (or something like that) in front of every word, it isn’t very nice…many of you would say that it is a kind of slang used in your everyday life, but I really see the need of it. In the midst of niao-ing you may accidentally hurt/ offend someone. Thus, I would urge all of you to stop being so sarcastic and start niao-ing everyone, it is ok if you niao people once in a blue moon, but when it happens so frequently, like everywhere you go, you get niao, the feeling isn’t very nice. Can we just try to be more truthful to each other?

Ok, that aside. I have a burning question on my mind- which special program should I go? I mean can I even get a special program? My MSG isn’t very good, and knowing that I may not even handle the standard workload of secondary 3 and balance time between work and my EP3, should I get a special program? I don’t really know. Can someone give me some advice? Either way, I just send an email to Ms. Yap to get her recommendation.

987 top 20

what a week for moving up the charts, as we see 12 songs moving up and only 4 sliding down. we start of the week with a new entry by local band- the great spy experiment with their new single “the great decay”, it is not too bad a song, considering it is a local band, and it certainly has lots of potential with so much support that it managed to squeeze into the charts- a force to be reckon with, but don’t put your life savings on it, it still lacks the punch to become a number one hit. At number 19, we have another new entry by James Blunt as he enters with “1973” after his past hit singles “You’re beautiful” and “Goodbye my lover”- this is certainly a potential number one hit- a great R&B song with a calm and cool rhythm. The highest new entry belongs to the backstreet boys, as they finally enter the Singapore charts with their new, comeback single “inconsolable” at 18. Ironically, none of the bubbling under (songs just outside the charts) songs debut this week, which includes Britney Spears, but don’t worry, she is still bubbling this week and certainly have the punch to enter, whereas rapper 50 cents is not so lucky, as his single can’t even debut on the chart even when Kayne West is about to get the number one spot- a humiliating defeat.

Moving up the charts, we have the Jonas Brothers with SOS at number 17, followed by Katherine Mcphee with her very own “love story”. Akon continues his journey up the chart as he “sorry, blame it on me” at 15. Natasha Bedingfield drops another 4 spots after finding her “soulmate”. Back to the trend, Yellowcard moves up 3 as they “light up the sky”. All 3 bands- Good Charlotte, Maroon 5 and Daughtry surge up the charts with their respective songs.

Into the top 10, Avril Lavigne will definitely say “when you’re gone” as she drops a whopping 5 notches to number 8. Meanwhile, 17 years old Sean Kingston inches up one with his infectious second single- Me love. Holding steady at number 6, we have the sisters of Aly and Aj as their quest into the top 5, came into another abrupt stop again.

As expected, Paula Deanda, together with Bow Wow leapfrogged other title contenders to number 5, so “easy” isn’t it? Will.I.Am is at number 4 with fergie-fer as they “got it from my mama”, who recently just rocked the Singapore indoor system with a heart-thumping concert last Monday, unfortunately it isn’t enough to push them all the way to the top. Kayne West gets even “stronger” as he reaches number 3. After 2 weeks at number one, the click five fails to hold on to get achieve a hat-trick as they drop 1 to 2 this week- seems like even the opening act for the BEP’s Concert, performance for Live the Dream, appearance on 987 are not enough. So who have the steam and power to crush the click five? Yes, it is new-band the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, who have already 2 number one hits out of a possible of 2! Impressive considering the fact that they are new and have already held off stiff competition from other bands and artistes. But will “your guardian angel” be enough to help the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus stay for another week? Or will “self-proclaimed” rap king Kanye West prove them wrong? How about producer cum rapper Will.I.Am teaming with Black Eyed Peas team-mate Ferige? Don’t leave out the young Paula Deanda! Who knows? But be sure to catch the top20 every Friday 8-10 with Dan and Young and repeats on Sunday morning from 11-1. Predictions for next week:

5. Jenny by the Click Five
4. Easy by Paula Deanda feat Bow Wow
3. I got it from my mama by Will.I.Am feat Fergie
2. Your guardian angel by the Red Jumpsuit apparatus
1. Stronger by Kayne West

Next week, we should see Britney Spears debut as she releases her comeback album, Timbaland and One Republic should also appear with the infectious “apologise” as it is speeding up music charts all over the world. Aly and Aj still lacks the chemistry, expect them to drop.

Ok, as promised, the weekly 987 top 20!
