Inconsolable by Backstreet Boys +1 4. Bubbly by Colbie Cailat +6 3. Easy by Paula DeAnda feat Bow Wow -1 2. Misery Business by Paramore +1 1. Apologize by Timbaland feat OneRepublic = This week we have whole lots of artistes, from producer Timbaland to Boy Band- Backstreet Boys, and even sisters of the Aly and Aj, not forgetting the Jonas Brothers, so lets roll up the charts, and count it down! Debuting at 20, we have one of the best ever combinations, as Rihanna and Ne-Yo comes together to give us “Hate That I Love You”. Will.IAm (together with Fergie) has the dubious honour of being the biggest dropper of the week, as the slip a whopping 8 spots to 19. Another new entry comes from Jennifer Lopez as she’s “Do It Well” at number 18. Both Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and James Blunt slip down 4 with their respective hits. This would certainly come as a surprise, as many would have thought that James Blunt new single- “1973” would beat or at least match the success of his previous number one single- “Your Beautiful”. Good Charlotte too completes the dropping trio with “Dance Floor Anthem (I Don’t Want To Be In Love)”. One of the two non-movers of the week belongs to Matchbox Twenty as they see “How Far We’ve Come”, they certainly had not been far as they hold on to number 15. The highest climber of the week belongs to Alicia Keys with “No One”, as she climbs up 7 notches to 13. This is also the current number one billboard song, so expect it to enter the top 5 in coming weeks. Melee and Relient K both moves up to 12 and 11 with their respective hits. On the half way line, we have the lovely sisters of Aly and Aj, as they slips another 5 to 10, not too bad an achievement as they have already been on the charts for 13 weeks, just 2 shy of Rihanna’s record. Moving up we have one of the highest new entry of the year, as the Click Five proves that they are not “empty” at number 9. The Jonas Brothers inches up 1 to 8, in opposite directions, we have Kayne West’s “Stronger” dropping 3 to 7. Back to the trend we have the duo of Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys, both inching up 1 to 6 and 5 respectively. Colbie Cailat makes a surprise entry into the top 5 with her heart-warming hit “Bubbly”- certainly a song to be reckoned with. At number 3, we have the infectious “Easy”, which drops just 1 to 3. Despite being the highest climber of the year, paramore only manage to move up 1 to 2. So that brings us to number one, the last of the two non-movers, yes it is, for the second week running- This is Timbaland and OneRepublic- “Apologize”. They made it twice, can Timbaland make it thrice? This is certainly a potential record breaker for the longest stay at number one, especially since on other radio stations like 91.3, where the topped the charts for a total of 44 days, which is approximately 7 weeks. But look’s who’s behind them, Paramore, Colbie Cailat, Backstreet Boys, all looking strong! Only time can tell, but be sure to stay tune to the 987 top 20 countdown every Friday from 8-11, and repeats on Sunday from 11-1, only on 987 FM. Next week’s top 5 predictions: 5. Gimme more by Britney Spears 4. Inconsolable by Backstreet Boys 3. Bubbly by Colbie Cailat 2. Misery Business by Paramore 1. Apologzie by Timbaland feat OneRepublic zone presentation rehearsel later... |
