Misery Business by Paramore = 1. Apologize by Timbaland feat One Republic = What a phenomenal week this is! As we have 4 new entries, 5 non-movers, 6 climbers and only 5 droppers, we don’t see that everyday, do we? We start of this week from a local song by Mark Bonafide with “Later 2Nite” at number 20. The second new entry belongs to the ever-changing Sugarbabes with their new single- “About You Now”. The third new entry is at 18, an act by Malaysian CheNelle together with Cham- “I Fell In Love With The DJ”. Breaking the trend of new entries, we have Matchbox Twenty dropping 3 from last week 14. The highest new entry this week comes from Jamie Scott and The Town bringing us the hear-warming “When Will I See Your Face Again” at 16. One of the four highest jumpers this week, we have Rihanna and Ne-Yo with “Hate That I Love You” at 15, climbing up a total of 5 notches. No love for Aly and Aj, as they slips down another 4 notches to 14. Jennifer Lopez returns with her catchy new single “Do It Well” at number 13, this song also features the vocals of Ludacris. Going in opposite direction, Kayne West drops 5 to 12. The biggest dropper of the week comes from the Backstreet Boys, dropping a whopping 6 notches, as they were only able to peak at 5, and they are certainly “Inconsolable”. On the half-way line, we have yet another dropper, this time coming from the Jonas Brothers as they are really needing an “SOS” at number 10. Relient K has certainly “Gives Until There Is Nothing Left” as they inches up 2, making a surprise entry into the top 10. Alicia Keys sure isn’t “No One”, as she climbs up 5 to 8. The last of the highest climber this week goes to Melee as they are “Build to Last” at 7. Holding steady for 2 weeks in a row, we have Britney Spears with “Gimme More”, and she seriously needs more if she were to make into top 5. Last week highest new entry “Empty” by the Click Five could only move up 4 spots to 5. Did we mention 5 non-movers? And we only heard one of them? And how many songs do we have left? Yes, all 4 top songs last week holds on steady to their respective positions, with Colbie Cailat at number 4 with “Bubbly”, “Easy” by Paula DeAnda feat Bow Wow at number 3, while Paramore lacks the support to go top, as they could only manage another week at number 2- 3 weeks already! This means, Timbaland and One Republic holds on for 3 weeks in a row, completing his hat-trick! They certainly need to “Apologize” to the other songs in the running for number 1, as they look strong enough to hold on for a month! This is certainly unheard of, the last song which stayed at number 1 for a month was “Hey There Delilah” by the Plain White Ts, before that the other song which managed to stay for that long had to stretched all they way back to last year Christmas with “Welcome to The Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance. Can giant producer Timbaland and One Republic prove it? Watch out for Paramore, who have already spent 3 weeks at number 2. Don’t leave out Paula DeAnda, having hold out at number 3. Colbie Cailat might even surprise us with her catch “Bubbly”! A look into next week chart, we might see debuts from Leona Lewis, Ferige and The Last Goodnight with their respective hits, but do expect the unexpected, as the new entries from the past few weeks did not even bubbled! Don’t expect Mark Bonafide to stay on the charts for too long despite a decent attempt on his new track “Later 2Nite”. The competition in the top 10 is surely going down the wire, and we might just see a couple of songs losing out. As Timbaland is expected to defend his number one crown, it would be interesting to see how the top 5 changes next week. Only time can tell, but be sure to stay tune to the 987 top 20 countdown every Friday from 8-11, and repeats on Sunday from 11-1, only on 987 FM. Next week’s top 5 predictions: 5. Build to Last by Melee 4. Bubbly by Colbie Cailat 3. No One by Alicia Keys 2. Misery Business by Paramore 1. Apologize by Timbaland feat OneRepublic ==================================================================================== whoo...went to watch the premiere of Golden Compass on Thursday, what a great movie, maybe would come up with a movie review! |
