30 hour famine camp!

back from 30 hour famine camp! it was really awesome :D

well seriously speaking, i wasn't expecting much from the camp. since i was going there for free since i won the t-shirt, and dingz was there too.

saw quite alot of familiar faces- huangcheng ppl, school/classmates, my cousin and even patrick (lol random) so i was allocated to CHINA: WANG family!

i shan't elaborate much. but mainly what we did was to experience a day in the life of a kid in poverty. they also invited some speakers to give some talk. we even did a flash mob (although quite fail imo) on the next day, as well as setting a brand new singapore record for the most number of people building cardboard shelters at the same time (?)

i thought the finale concert was really good. wait actually just jack and rai =x they are such friendly people. without a doubt, my favourite local artiste! they started with a cover of Kings of Leon's Use Somebody, followed by their own song- pixelated. they ended their short gig with one of the biggest songs of 2008- Coldplay, with Viva La Vida. ZZ but damn the crowd wasn't exactly very appreciative =x

after which they even presented me my prize for winning the tshirt design! ok to be honest, it was like one of my proudest moment (ego boost LOL) cos so many ppl modeled my shirt- Jack and Rai, Choi/Choy (?) from MTV asia, and all the other staffs from World Vision as well as YAP ppl. and it was really good to know that the money from the shirt sales will all be used for a good cause.

all in all. it was really a very meaningful and unforgettable camp. all the fun we had as a group. the WANGS from CHINA LOL XD

well, basically its like our post 黄城 party cum elections.

went to school at 9+ to rehearse our performance. and damn. asked ziheng to help me gel my hair cos i wanted to a more "yishun" feel. wtf in the end duno what he doing. look like shit. regret sia. that explains my fugly hair today zz

that aside. went to serene centre for lunch. den everyone (宣传） was helping ziheng with his script, cos he was running for 执委.

went back to school after that. elections first. woah lucky ziheng no1. ok la, although you never win, but it was a good effort otherwise. the next few hours more elections crap. decided on our 7 exco. den spam q and a again to settle their roles and positions =.= wanted to do some hw de. but doesn't seem to work. oh well.

everything lasted until like 5+ then it was 催场 and 票务 elections. so suay. don't understand why 票务 need elections. nothing much la. voted for her. meh she didn't (want to) win in the end =.=

then it was our own 宣传 elections.

小黄城 finally. haha damn fun la. keep throwing newspaper (and playing laser) =xx but seriously fuck some ppl man. fucking bull shit idiot. that aside, it was quite enjoyable. epic performances from all group.

oh and i somehow got voted in as leader, together with shuting =P thanks all for the support! ohoh and after that 宣传(actually only 5 ppl-me, ziheng, shuting, si2, jing2) went for a night tour around high school! woah all of them don't dare go to the scary places de. not fun =.= nvm. then we camp outside bs to talk some crap. bleh. reached home at 12+ and here i am blogging.

really wana thank everyone who has made this experience such an enjoyable one. but then again, they probably won't even read my blog. so i should just do away with too much talking. haha anyway, i just wana say thank you everyone in 宣传!

well normally i would have spent my saturdays playing guitar hero at my ahma's house. but that's not the case for the last 2 saturdays i had

03042010- SJAB Zone Comp

yet another year of competition, but this time i appeared as a runner for of the short case. Pretty interesting to see how the other teams do their cases. And damn, it rained, so some of the footdrill had to be done in their hall/auditorium.

yup. results were announced. and we got one champion and one first runner up. It was really emotional to see some of my juniors crying their hearts out. no one could deny the fact that they put in more than their very best. and i'm glad to say that i'm very proud of all my juniors, proud of hci*St.J//

we've got one back already. next year it's both. and for yk's team. all the best for nat comp!

i would have never expected myself to be at victoria theatre, helping out with a drama production. i never expected myself to be part of this. i don't even remember what spurred me to join 黄城. but thankfully, i glad i did. All 154 of us, we might not know each other, but without anyone of us, 黄城 wouldn't have been this high, this successful.

宣传 has been an awesome department- painting banners, putting up posters, brainstorming ticket design, making that 1gb big psd programme booklet, constructing the vt board, and even to being usher and 门神. we may not be the busiest/important department. but i think we should be proud of whatever we have done. For me, i hope everyone enjoyed the programme booklet, cos i played quite a big role in designing it XP

and of course you, for making my 黄城 experience such a memorable one

so much for all the drama!

adam lambert week ended on a really high note.

well firstly, i spent quite awhile before getting my deluxe edition albums. but yet in the end, neither of the 2 serial numbers (album) i bought was one of the lucky 500 which could go to his showcase. on that night itself, sadm/ joseph (my MC forum friend) called out every single available CD stores which were still selling the album to reserve under my name!

in the end, thursday after school. me and walter went around singapore hunting for winning serial numbers which were still unsold! 3 friggin hours! from bugis, bras basah to cityhall and finally to the cathy. and all we found was just ONE winning serial. back then i was really caught in an enigma. really did not know what to do. cos walter wanted to give jiaquan the ticket as his bdae present. but at the same time i also so damn want the freaking ticket, but there's only one!

by like 9pm, i already made up my mind of selling the one and only ticket to walter. (at $22, not market price of $200) then 11.30pm, muttons had their last pair of showcase tickets to giveaway. so i just tried my luck

first time calling in for a contest. first time getting through the hot line for muttons. first time hearing myself on radio. i could not freaking believe it la. cos firstly its the muttons! and its glambert tickets which they are giving out! and wtf?? im the first caller through. ok so my task were pretty simple.

the first 2 songs were simple! FYE and TFM. last song already! and i win 2 tickets. freaking nervous... sadly in the end i couldn't finish his damn lyrics... just blank out although the lyrics were like right in front of me on the computer screen. sighs. at the damn moment, when the muttons played me on radio. my MSNs suddenly all pop up, asking me whether was it me on radio =.= so damn freaking disappointed in myself la.. how can this happened, what have i done?

but still, i sold my one and only ticket to walter..

turns out to be quite a good choice i supposed? my friends had fun. i feel happy. and walter even called me when adam was singing! awesome!! he sang music again, sleepwalker, broken open, whataya want from me, mad world and down the rabbit hole. all so damn awesome. even though its like phone quality. and i managed to spread the joy to other glamberts who were unable to get tickets- sadm and wayne! (called them with another phone, then loudspeaker LOL)

then today was the autograph session. rushed down from school. passed album to joseph. then chiong to cineleisure for BH comp (don't talk abt it =/) then literally ran back to bugis! omg damn sweaty la. sigh then by the time joseph already inside the fenced up area already, we were unable to cut into his spot =/ so we were praying for lambert to sign all 3 of our albums! god, he really got a huge fan base in singapore! (own kris flat LOL). boo unfortunately that didn't happen. damn security. in the end, me and wayne decided to try our luck again by queuing up! god he's so damn fast in autograph! barely 20minutes. our turn already! lucky us, we were like one of the last ones!

and so... i got adam lambert autograph on my album!! and i met him in person (ooh he smiled at me! LOL) and wayne confessed his love to adam. HAHA nice one la

yup that's about it. meeting lambert in person really brightens up my shitty day (shan't blog about it)

and yes. he's coming back for a full length concert. haha i swear. then, i would book front row most ex ticks! haha

school's finally starting tmr? yay or neh? =/

oh well. yesterday was fun. my SJAB juniors were having public duty at old police academy for some 5-aside soccer competition. william! arturo! benjwe! derrick! LOL yeah so i dropped by since i had nothing to do, and it was quite near to my ahma house anyway.

under 13 tournament. see all the little boys playing =.= quite cute sia. some of them so small size, but they can actually dive to save the ball, while others their shooting is friggin accurate.

lol nothing much happened. just that we ended up playing too. been bloody long since i last played field soccer. cool shit. it was just normal target practice. so i tried to shoot from outside the penalty box. wah stunning. i actually scored. hit the crossbar, came off the keeper (yk!) then went in =.= the feeling damn shiok =D some more i was barefooted. not bad not bad.

oh and there were some other retarded things too. like yk smashing straight into the rugby post. me getting olehed haha

after went ahma house. finished Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2! boo i felt it was way shorter then the first one. oh well. then played abit of GH. woohoo 91% for Scream Aim Fire, -1 for Under Pressure, -5 for Go Your Own Way. yeah all of them were Guitar Expert. aww and the worst 99% for Plug In Baby (vocals medium)

987FM Top 100 Countdown Preview 3

This week we take a look athow local songs fared on the charts. Unfortunately, this is the very firsttime, that there isn’t a single local (Singapore) song on the charts.Electrico’s What Do You See didn’teven make it to the bubbling under section, despite being the official themesong for this year’s National Day Parade. The likes of Mark Bonafide, Richard Jensen, and Wicked Aura Batucada didn’t fare any better.

However we do have songs from other Asian countries charting on the top 20. Such as Zee Avi’s Bitter Heart, and more significantly,Wonder Girl’s Nobody. Neither ofthem was able to top the charts, with the latter going the closest, by peakingat number 2, spending 8 weeks on the charts.

Next, we take a look atsongs which were bubbling unders, but failed to make it to the top 20.

This year, a total of 22songs bubbled, but were unable to make it to the actual top 20. This is 5 lessthen last year’s figure of 27. Significant songs, which didn’t chart, includesEminem’s Crack A Bottle. This isalso probably the first time none of his singles from an album were able tochart, which includes Beautiful, aswell as We Made You. Lady GaGa’s Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) is alsothe only single released from her Fame Album, which didn’t hit number one in Singapore.

Bottle Pop by the Pussycat Dolls bubbled thrice on the charts, but wereunable to make it to the actual top 20. They bubbled the first time on 27March, followed by on 10 April, then finally on 22 May. Colbie Cailat’s Fallin’ For You made two appearances onthe bubbling under, as it was denied a spot in the top20.

There were also songs whichtopped the US, UK charts, but failed to dothe same for the Singapore one. They include songs,such as Down by Jay Sean ft LilWayne which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 2 weeks, but could only peak atnumber 5 on the top 20. Crack A Bottlealso topped the Hot 100, but didn’t even appear on the top 20. Watcha Say by Jason DeRulo didn’t evenbubble. Gives You Hell top the AT40 for 3 weeks, but could only peak at number2 here in Singapore.

i think my blog has been lacking alot of personal updates. haha

public duty at @scape youth park = win

i swear it is the best pd i've ever went. when do you get crazy bands, screaming vocalists, topless drummer, and finally audiences who dance like they are fighting. madness. some of the bands were really heavy death metal.

ok they had 2 venues. one outdoor, and the other indoor inside the "lab". the one indoor is seriously madness. well firstly cos its indoor (self-explanatory). and the bands playing inside were like :O holy crap. they were like shouting in some alien language which we were unable to decipher. then the crowd started to dance and push around 0.o

haha and guess wat? me and benjwe won the lucky draw! haha we won some macbeath (or issit macbeth>) shirt and guitar strings (?) everything eneded at around 10.30 or so. wow the closing act was this band called- closure in moscow. haha not bad.

lol hopefully after all this pd. we have enough hours to max out our pd in caa. anyway had a really great time with sjab ppl for the past few days- luky, kok, art etc

49* songs reach top 5

For this week top 100 preview, we take a look at songs which have reached the top 5 of the 987FM Top 20 Charts. This year, a whopping 49 songs reach the top 5 of the charts, but failed to go number one. This is almost twice as much as lastyear number of 28.

Surprisingly,most of the songs here can actually stay longer on the charts, as compared tosome of the number ones. Cascada’s Evacuate the Dancefloor and Kelly Clarkson’s Already Gone both lasted 11 weeks on the top20, despite peaking at 3 and 2 respectively. While other songs like T-Shirt, NextPlane Home, Miss Independent, Good Girls Go Bad all mange to last for 10 weeks. Most significantly, SouljaBoy’s Kiss Me Thru The Phone manageto stay for an amazing 13 weeks on the chart, despite only peaking at 2. On aside note, Simple Plan’s Save You isthe first song on the charts history, which only manage to peak at no.6,despite an amazing run of 11 weeks on the charts, before falling off.

Itmust surely be a surprise for some of us to see songs like Wonder Girl’s Nobody and Taylor Swift’s You Belong With Me unable to top thecharts, despite its huge popularity amongst the Singaporepopulation. While songs like Jay Sean’s Down, Pixie Lott’s Mama Do, Daughtry’s No Surprise also failed to bag numberone.

Meanwhile,Paramore is still searching for their first number one hit in Singapore,they were denied the no.1 spot for a third time, with Decode only peaking at 3. Jonas Brothers also failed to get asingle no.1 this year with Tonight and Paranoid, both flopping. TheirDisney counterpart- Miley Cyrus didn’t fare any better, The Climb also only manage to peak at 2.

These songs, together with last week’s list of number ones, would make up a bulk of this year top 100. Next week, we take a look at list of bubbling unders which failed to make it into the charts and also songs which rocked other charts, but flatters on the Singaporeone. Till then :D

987 FM Top 100 Countdown 2009 Preview 1

It’s the time of the year where we count down the 100 of the biggest songs in 2009! This is the 987FM year-end top 100 countdown- the official chart show of Singapore. Similarly to last year, this is will be the first of the four-part series of the preview of the top 100 countdown, before the actual show on 31st December. This week, we take a look at all the number-one songs which have topped the charts this year- 2009.

This year, we have a grand total of 32 songs, which have topped the charts. This is 4 more then last year’s 28. Lady Gaga has 4 no.1 songs, namely- Just Dance, Poker Face, Lovegame and Paparazzi, making her the artiste with the most number of no.1 songs in 2009. And she also enjoys spending the longest number of weeks (8) at top of the charts- with all of her songs spending 2 weeks at no1. Britney Spears comes in second, with 3 no.1s- Womanizer, Circus, If You See Amy, enjoying a total of 6 weeks at the no1 spot.

Again, none of the songs this year could beat My Chemical Romance’s Welcome to the Black Parade records on the charts. The most successful no1. song this year most probably belong to Owl City with Fireflies- it had a 3 weeks run at the top, as well as spending a whopping 13 weeks on the charts. On the other hand, however, P!nk’s So What did manage to equal the longest stay on the charts of 15, despite only managing to top for 1 week.

P!nk, too, also had to spend the most number of weeks before peaking at no.1. So What, together with Make It Mine and I Don’t Care, all reached the pinnacle of the charts only in their 9th week. In contrast, songs like Whatever You Like, Boom Boom Pow and Know Your Enemy only needed a mere 4 weeks to top the charts.

Coincidentally, I Don’t Care and Know Your Enemy also shares the dubious honour of being the biggest fall-off from no1. and worst-performing no1. song respectively. I Don’t Care fell 6 notches to number 7, while Know Your Enemy only manage to spend 7 weeks on the charts, despite being a number one song. Meanwhile, Britney Spears is the biggest jumper to no.1 with a +5 jump with Womanizer.

This year, sadly, only 4 bands manage to top the charts- Fall Out Boy, Green Day, Linkin Park and the most recent Panic! At the Disco. Black Eyed Peas is the only group in 2009 to top the charts. Similarly to last year, out of the 32 number one hits, only 3 were collaborations- Just Dance, Right Round, Love Sex Magic. The remix of Ego, with Kanye West on it, is also the only remix to the charts in 2009. Having said that, the remaining 23 number one songs all belonged to solo artist. And out of the 23, a massive 18 of them were by female singers. Year of the ladies.

2009 also welcomed a few new artists, which manage to top the charts. Such as Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Owl City and most significantly, Lady Gaga. Unlike last year, this year American Idol, was unable to produce a number one hit (Compared to last year David Cook’s Always Be My Baby and David Archuleta’s Crush). The AI Alumni did better, with Season 1 Winner- Kelly Clarkson topping the charts, together with David Archuleta, as well as Jordin Sparks.

The number one song of the year would definitely belong one of the songs listed above. But who? Who will be the final no1 song of the decade? 2009 could be the first year, the charts is dominated by female singers. And it could be very well be the first time in 7 years (as far as my records could go), that there is finally a female number one song. Can Lady Gaga continue her great year, with the dominance of the Top 100? Or would country-turn-pop Taylor Swift steal the show? Perhaps Flo-Rida can better his 2008 position of number 2, not forgetting Owl City. Maybe even Black Eyed Peas can re-capture their number one spot after 6 years (2003 number one- Where is the Love).

its been 7 months since i last watched a movie with yk =/ lol

wanted to watch the 1130AM show. so he ask me go there earlier to buy tickets. wth in the end the cinema not even open yet =.= went for brunch- SUBWAY! after buying tickets, went to SEMBAWANG. i thought i could do some shopping there. but nothing there seems to interest me. even with the 50% offer. boo good luck SEMBAWANG

went to buy popcorn. wth now the waitress also from china =.= not that i despise but isn't this going a lil extreme?

2012- ~~around~~ 3 hours of epic-ness. pretty awesome, cool graphics, great visuals. amazing how the guy survive. i find it abit too draggy though >< it sorta reminds me of Fantastic 4- the Rise of the Silver Surfer, which i watched on Sunday. Like how Galactus needs to consume different planets for his survival. then the whole world gg lol

firstly: proud to say me and weichieh are the only ones who have attended all 4 sjab chalet?? haha

one of the rooms smelt like shit. as if someone died there before and no one has cleared the corpse yet.

sadly, there was no xbox this year. however yiren brought his PS2, sadly it was from china, and the plug couldn't fit. so ya =.= so we ended up playing ban luck!! haha im spreading the 4a1/2 tradition to my sjab juniors. lmao i was banker and accepted 10-50cents bet. and there were around 4 people playing. and i earned at least $4. erm quite alot rite? considering i was only accepting such small bets. haha

then in the other room, the sec3s pushed their beds over, cos they needed space to set up their LAN centre. dota freaks.

after that, went to played basket ball, and the court was around 2KM away...dinner, singapore idol, drama, HOT SHOT , then BBALL again. wah addicts. and what's with the craze over HOT SHOT =.= yea i know the song is nice (4a2 used it for class dance), but i don't see why there is a need to go so crazy over it and makes everything so over-rated. typical fanboys?

and yes, so we scaled another 2km to go the bball court and yes it was around 12 midnight already. haha on our there, we did alot of crazy things la. damn fun!

- shouting chiobu, then all the sec3s turn back and look at us =.=

siao played bball until super late. around 3am. then walked back again.

the sec3s played more dota. why the rest were playing fireflies to sleep. quite effective la. in the end slept from 5AM to around 10AM. then went breakfast and bb. oya before that. banluck again, and i sorta lost almost everything i earned the day before. oh well

haha lets see some of the crazy things we did

- "hibernate" someone's comp by putting it into the freezer

- throwing the bday boy russell into the swimming pool at around 3+AM

- putting the BK fries into the freezer =.=

the paper was more difficult then our EOY paper imo. really hope i can get at least an A2. anyway yesterday after the paper, went to KBOX@ cathay cineleisure with ziheng, aaron, cui and son.

haha first time singing karaoke in singapore. haha damn fun. the price quite reasonable also $14 for one drink, one snack and 5 hours of singing. having said that, i think the beijing KTV is better then singapore's kbox *surprise* i mean beijing one has a MUCH bigger room, LCD tv, touch screen control, and a buffet. ok fine i think the price is the same =/

but nevertheless, still enjoyed the day out. haha sang lots of songs. haha quoted from ziheng "if we everytime let cuisheng sing, we would have enough songs to help him produce a live album"

lol really looking forward to celebrations/ parties/ events after tmr. starting off with kbox (hopefully) with cui, aaron and ziheng. then wednesday to friday, sjab chalet! but sadly, like no one is able to bring any gaming console >< saturday bncoc again before i go HQ to attend sjab dinner and get my $500 prize for my poster design :D the following week, class chalet, commencement dinner and then bncoc camp.

One-hit wonder? Yea, pretty much. Without a doubt, fireflies is the best song in the album. Other recommended tracks includes Vanilla Twilight, Hello Seattle (both original and remix). Mundane singing, meaningless lyrics. and his voice is like on repeat, auto-tuned. a mixture between T-Pain and Hellogoodbye. I was trying my best not to fall asleep while listening to the whole album. All the songs from the album sounds the same to me, this dude needs more variation in his style and presentation. if not, he will bore listeners out there by his 2nd album. i'm sure this electro-pop craze over him (or fireflies) will die out very soon)

haha so i'm back at blogger again.

yesterday was our last day in high school. got back my results. happy that i could pass and go over to JC. but then again, it was also my worst EOY msg in my 4 years. oh well. after all 2009 has been a horrific year for my academics.

had aphelion day. surprisingly, i felt it was the best aphelion day i've ever had. maybe its due to the fact that it was our last year here. well apart from the first performer, i thought all the performances were pretty awesome. especially cuisheng, awesome cover of 手放开 by 李圣杰! really brought the standard of the performances up by a notch!

and the epic ending of 朋友 by my fellow sec4s. damn high! and the buffet this year was wonderful. no need pay some more. i think this is the best thing the council have ever done.

after then went out to watch My Sister's Keeper, quite touching..

and so this it? 4 years in high school have just ended. in a blink of an eye. i still remember my sec1 orientation, when i first entered hwachong. really glad that i've made so many great friends.

Great! my GH guitar miraculously recovered yesterday after watching the MJ Munich Concert 0.o kinda freaky. But oh well. Don’t really care luh. =D yea so for the first time in don’t know how many months, we played one game for the whole night!

I completely smashed my old sweet home Alabama high score=D 450k (with vocals). Totally thrash my old one by 70k. but the percentage only 89%=/ 2% shy of my highest. And we discovered this song Satch Boogie by Joe Satriani. Awesome song! But its gona take some time before I can finish playing the whole song=/

Teachers day tmr=) gona have more fun lol.

yay changed my blog skin.

if you were to notice, this blog skin was actually my first one when i first started blogging in late 2006.

kinda think of it. i really wished i could turn back time. back to sec1 days. so carefree, no pressure. back to sec3, i could go sjab comp once again.

back to times, when i wouldn't know some people, maybe my life would be better that way.

oh well

then again, maybe i should just treasure the friends around me now. and not regret about the past.

had a great day out yesterday with zhaoxun, zitao, cuisheng, julian, chengan and clary.

went to the cathay to watch GI JOE! lol then suddenly rain so we had to share umbrellas to go there...siao totally drenched. whole uniform wet, my shoes and socks also.

after that went to buy ticks then went toilet to change. lmao. the urinal there got a pic of bruno.

GI JOE not too bad la, quite nice=) way better than harry potter and terminator imo.

after that, we to orchard central. walk around and camwhored. lol wth. damn fun.
